From her early clinical training at CHARLEE Homes for Children to her years serving at-risk students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Erika has seen the profound impact therapy can have on a life. She carries deep gratitude for the colleagues, mentors, and clients who have shaped her journey so far. Opening FDC Counseling and Wellness is not a departure but a natural continuation of that journey — an opportunity to bring together her experience, passion, and vision in her own practice. By creating this space, Erika can focus entirely on her mission: empowering clients, strengthening families, and making a positive impact on her South Florida community.
Erika Fernandez de Castro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and young adults. Born, raised, and educated in South Florida, Erika has deep roots in the community she serves and a strong commitment to its well-being. She earned her Master of Social Work from Barry University and completed a two-year clinical internship at CHARLEE Home for Children in Miami. Her professional journey includes nearly 15 years as a School Social Worker for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where she supported at-risk students and families. She also pursued advanced training in Infant Mental Health, underscoring her recognition of the importance of emotional development from infancy. For the past five years, Erika has worked as a therapist at Coral Gables Counseling Center while also serving as an educational consultant. Today, through FDC Counseling and Wellness, she combines more than 20 years of experience with her passion for empowering individuals, strengthening families, and positively impacting the South Florida community she proudly calls home.
